A word about deliverables

Editing and rewriting markup consist of edits and margin comments made to manuscript files or hardcopy. For your convenience, our edits do not replace original text. Critiques are delivered as a report, without manuscript alteration.

Advanced Editing / $0.03 to $0.05 per word / includes copy editing

Also known as structural editing, we clarify and reorganize your manuscript for content and layout. As desired by the author, major edits will be suggested or applied to the project's documents.

Copy Editing / $0.01 to $0.02 per word

We review and edit grammar, spelling, and punctuation. As applicable, we can provide or change citations to follow a specified style sheet and write or edit captions and credits.

Although not a task normally performed by freelance editors, we understand that some authors use the term proofreading to describe copy editing.

Copy Writing / fee arranged by project

We can write nonfiction copy on most subjects. Please note that ARW Editors cannot accept ghostwriting projects.

Critiquing / $0.02 per word

We review your manuscript line by line, without editing, and issue a report detailing its grammar usage, storytelling merits, characterization, atmosphere, dialogue, and effectiveness towards reaching your intended readership.

Indexing / $0.02 to $0.03 per word

We create an alphabetical list of names, places, subjects, and concepts that appear in your nonfiction work.

Rewriting / fee arranged by project / includes copy editing

We edit and complete your manuscript using content and research you provide. As needed, this can include additional research and writing new passages to match your writing style.

Technical Writing / fee arranged by project / includes copy editing

We can rewrite or originate instructional documents and reports, in plain text or in HTML, including help files, manuals, and web pages. Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) qualified.
